On religion and the porridge-eating corpse

My morning jog would have been uneventful if not for this headline: Chitunha chakamuka chikadya bota (Corpse rose and ate porridge).

What made it even more hilarious was the total lack of context. And of course the story itself is unbelievable.

I’ve found that I believe in less and less things as I grow older. I’m not particularly religious and I find most religious theories and their proponents rather amusing (provided they’re not incessantly trying to convert me).

It was a good headline though. One that no doubt guaranteed the sale of a few more copies of that nonsensical paper.

But my thoughts are with the corpse. I really hope it made good its second chance at life. Life is fun, certainly being alive is better than being dead.
