Week 4 of the Couch to 5k program was hell. I changed from running on concrete surfaces to dusty village tracks. Which meant I had to run up some gentle rises instead of the usual flat city streets.
In week four the program begins with the usual five minute warm up walk followed by a three minute run, then walking for 90 seconds followed by a five minute run. Then walk for two and half minutes and repeat.
Running for 5 straight minutes is probably something a lot of people can do. But I could hardly run for a full minute a month ago so when I ran for 5 good minutes I was immensely proud of myself.
I’ll admit though that the last five minutes almost killed me.
For the first time I jogged at night. Wasn’t too bad but I discovered it’s generally better to run in the morning.
Didn’t run on the third day. Played a really intense football match. Felt it more than made up
